NANCY PAUW – An Inspiration
NANCY PAUW personified many words: Passionate; Caring; Optimistic; Resilient; Compassionate; Positive; Courageous; Happy. She was and continues to be a great inspiration to everyone who knew her.
It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to this inspiring woman. Nancy passed away just days before her 60th birthday, having fought a courageous battle with cancer.
If you met Nancy, then you also met Wim, her life partner for over 22 years. They were synonymous. They biked, hiked, skied, and explored the world together, never a down moment. They hosted, shared, laughed, and cared together, touching
people from all walks of life. They will forever be inseparable, their legacy to be continued into perpetuity through the Wim and Nancy Pauw Foundation.
Nancy grew up in New Hampshire, where she found her love for athletics, especially skiing. She is survived there by her mom (Kay Frechette), three sisters, a brother, and many friends.
Nancy embraced life to the fullest, with a passion for sport, fitness, and the outdoors. She competed, she engaged, she challenged herself, she persevered – always with a smile. She had an active, healthy, and happy life, and this legacy will continue to guide the Wim & Nancy Pauw Foundation.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ is planned for late September in Banff. Details will be available on the Foundation website, pauwfoundation.com.
In lieu of flowers or any sort of donation, just go for a hike… or bike… or swim… or ski….
