The Wim and Nancy Pauw Foundation is a locally administered private foundation based in Banff, Alberta.
Wim and Nancy Pauw established their Foundation so residents and visitors could directly benefit from the financial success of the hospitality company Wim founded in 1985. From the Nancy Pauw Pedestrian Bridge, which connects Banff’s trail system, to the donation of adaptive sports equipment that enables individuals with accessibility needs to enjoy their favourite mountain activities and outdoor educational programs designed to support local schools, Indigenous communities, and residents in the Bow Valley, the Foundation is making a tangible impact.
Our Foundation is creating positive, generational change across the Bow Valley.
How we work
We will fund initiatives that:
• Create opportunities to embrace our mountain culture, education, and recreation
• Make our community a positive place to build a career, live, and raise a family
• Positively impact our social service and community networks
• Improve the visitor experience
• Enhance infrastructure to beautify public areas and promote active transportation.
We commit to being:
Authentic
We believe in the vision that inspires our work. We’re real people. We’ve likely crossed paths as friends, coworkers, neighbours, or community partners.
Approachable
We are proud of our coffee-table culture and believe that open conversations nurture authentic relationships. If you bump into us on the street, we’re happy to have a chat about what you’re working on.
Practical
We admire simple, fluid and efficient systems and strive to minimize administrative processes for our partners. We don’t want to overcomplicate things.
Curious
We will engage with partners and community to understand challenges, identify opportunities, inspire dreams, and explore innovative ideas to impact meaningful change. We will ask a lot of questions.
Trustworthy
We will lead with a trust-based philosophy, using consistency, transparency and reliability to build strong relationships. We will keep your confidence.
