Supporting an active, vibrant, and healthy community.
Our donations support projects that promote active lifestyles, enhance education opportunities, and nurture strong connections within our community. These programs and initiatives make the Bow Valley a better place for people to live, raise families, and enjoy mountain life.
We will fund initiatives that:
• Create opportunities to embrace our mountain culture, education, and recreation
• Make our community a positive place to build a career, live, and raise a family
• Positively impact our social service and community networks
• Improve the visitor experience
• Enhance infrastructure to beautify public areas and promote active transportation.
Our Impact
Since 2013, the Wim and Nancy Pauw Foundation has invested over $14,000,000

“The Mountain Muskox program offers a space where people can process challenges together—through shared stories, connection, and healing,” says Bob Krysak, @mountainmuskox participant.
We talked to Bob and founder Sarah Hueniken (@huens) about the importance of Mountain Muskox, a peer support program launched in the Bow Valley 5 years ago. The program offers support for people who have experienced loss or trauma in the mountains ⛰️
This year, we’ve committed $25,000 to Mountain Muskox to expand their reach and ensure more people can access support in their toughest moments.

At the Wim and Nancy Pauw Foundation, we believe that community foundations and non-profits play a vital role in building healthy, connected, and resilient communities. That’s why we’re proud to support the @banffcanmorefoundation ⛰️
As a place-based foundation, the Banff Canmore Foundation brings people together to spark ideas, fund solutions, and drive meaningful change that benefits everyone. Their programs offer a platform for residents, partners, and organizations to unite around the issues that matter most 🩵
When local foundations thrive, so do the communities they serve. We’re grateful to be part of a shared vision for a stronger Bow Valley and encourage others to learn more about the impact of the Banff Canmore Foundation.

It’s exciting to see @cyancanmore expand events for young people in Banff and Canmore. This summer, they’ve offered a guided hike, canoe tour, and group run, with much more coming up in August.
Their weekly Monday night Yoga in the Park sessions help folks aged 18-35 relax and move mindfully outside. With their help, young adults feel more at home in the Bow Valley 🩵

“Wim’s philosophy to ‘keep Banff in Banff’ – and his commitment to reinvestment – is an excellent model of regenerative tourism,” says Cathy Geisler, Executive Director of the Wim & Nancy Pauw Foundation.
Earlier this year, we were featured in @banff_lakelouise’s @leadtourismforgood stories. Our Executive Director Cathy shared more about what we do and how our work contributes to Banff and Lake Louise’s vision to Lead Tourism for Good.

The Canmore Community Garden is more than a garden—it’s a place that builds relationships, teaches new skills, and nurtures physical and mental well-being 🌱
We’re happy to support the Canmore Community Garden again this year. All summer long, residents will grow veggies like radishes, kale, broccoli, herbs, cabbage, and chard.

It’s our mission to support a more active, vibrant, and healthy community. That’s why we contribute to @banfftown’s summer programs that keep kids active, engaged, and having fun all season long. From sports to arts and outdoor adventures, these programs help children and youth build confidence, make new friends, and enjoy everything summer has to offer in the mountains 🚵🏽☀️🎨

What’s better than a night of live theatre that celebrates local talent?
We’re proud to support our new partner, @pinetreeplayers, with a $12,000 donation to help bring community, creativity, and connection to the stage.
For 47 years, Pine Tree Players has been sparking imagination, building confidence, and creating opportunities for connection through the experience of live performance. Through programs like the Canmore Summer Theatre Festival, this volunteer-run nonprofit is a voice for arts and culture in the Bow Valley.
